Over 50% of our fabrics are Dead-stock, sourced in the UK. This means that instead of using natural resources to develop new fabrics we use fabrics that factories throw away and usually would end up in a landfill. Dead-stock fabrics are not only more sustainable but it's what our brand was built on the minimum order quantity for knitted to order fabrics are extremely high and when starting a brand these are not at all fees-able. So not only do we love using dead-stock fabrics for the environment but they also allow small brands to enter into fashion industry.

All of our garments are manufactured here in the UK. Our lovely machinist is paid over national living wage. We have a small studio in which we hand cut and hand make all of our styles. Our styles are also cut and sewn in small batches to reduce waste.

Our founder Isobel Emerald Hebe Dibrowa studied 'Contour Fashion' at university before starting work as a pattern cutter and account manager for a UK factory. Whilst managing a full time job she invested in her first two sewing machines and started developing styles from her home, using her industry experience combined with her creativity and passion in May 2019 'EMRLD' was established. From this point 'EMRLD' has continued to grow and has gone from two machines in a living room to multiple machines and a machinist in a studio. We are so grateful to our customers for getting us to this point and we can't wait to see what the future holds...

'EMRLD' was built as a party wear brand back in 2019, at this time fast fashion brands dominated the party wear industry making it extremely unethical as they support the wear it once and throw it out mindset. Our aim was to provide high quality ethical party wear thats made to last. As well as the gap in the market for ethical party-wear a huge part of 'EMRLD' is our fuller bust designs, as a fuller bust girl our founder Izzy knew how difficult it was to find tops that you could wear without a bra and still feel supported. All of our 'Fuller bust' styles are double lined, tried and fit tested to provide maximum support and style without the need for a bra.
